Puppetry and other dangerous hobbies
August 5th, 2009 by Aimee
I’ve decided it’s time to have a go at proper puppets! I made a fair few for my uni work last term out of plaster bandage and wire, but now I’ve watched Being John Malkovich, so proper carved wooden puppets it must be. I got a nice bit of wood, cut a fair bit of the head from one end, cut about an inch of my finger with the knife, and that was that for the week. Not my right hand, luckily, but while I wait for it to mend I’ve been playing with costume designs.
I’m going for the sort of heap-of-skirts-and-feathers look.

Hello world…

Right, so. I’ve finally got around to playing with the blog!
I’m two weeks away from this semester’s assessment, so there is much running around getting stuff printed and sorted and generally finished off. I’ve got a wall of puppets and dolls and things, all hanging there in a vaguely sinister way. Fun!
In other news, we went to choose a puppy on Monday. She’s a black labradoodle, utterly beautiful, and, what with my sister and her new camera, she’s likely to be the most photographed dog on the planet! So watch this space for labradoodle-based doodles!
